Join Red Cross CCA to build character, learn life-saving skills like first aid, and serve the community. Students develop compassion, resilience, and leadership through meaningful local and overseas humanitarian work.
Our Purpose
The Red Cross Youth CCA aims to nurture compassionate, resilient and responsible students who are equipped with essential First Aid knowledge and a heart to serve others through meaningful learning and service experiences.
Guided by the Singapore Red Cross ethos of service to humanity, we hope to develop students who demonstrate empathy, teamwork, leadership and a strong commitment to contributing positively to the community.
What We Learn
Students develop practical knowledge and essential lifesaving skills in First Aid, emergency response procedures, basic health and safety practices, blood donation knowledge, leadership, teamwork and community service. Through these experiences, they also develop values such as empathy, compassion and a strong sense of social responsibility through service-learning and community engagement.
Growing Our 21st Century Competencies
We seek to develop the following 21st Century Competencies in our students during the CCA sessions:
Leadership & Teamwork – Build confidence in leading activities, working collaboratively and taking responsibility for others.
Communication Skills – Practise clear communication, active listening and effective interaction with peers and community partners.
Critical & Inventive Thinking – Apply knowledge to assess situations, make sound decisions and respond appropriately to challenges.
Civic Literacy, Global Awareness & Cross-Cultural Skills – Understand the importance of contributing to society and appreciating diverse needs and perspectives.
Social & Emotional Competencies – Develop resilience, self-management, empathy and respect for others.
Confidence & Character – Nurture responsible, compassionate and resilient young leaders who are willing to serve and make a positive difference in the community.
The CCA Experience
Learning goes beyond regular training sessions. Students have opportunities to apply what they learn through local community service and humanitarian projects, putting their skills and values into action while discovering the importance of serving others.
