Taekwondo
Join Taekwondo to build fitness, self-discipline, and resilience while learning self-defence techniques and competing in national events.
Our Purpose
Jieminites build strong, healthy bodies and develop the virtues of modesty and perseverance through Taekwondo. Training cultivates tolerance, self-discipline, and respect, while instructors teach effective self-defence techniques.
What We Learn
The CCA programme aims to develop students' physical and mental fitness, instil self-discipline and a sense of responsibility, and cultivate values such as tolerance and respect. Students are also taught effective self-defence techniques and given opportunities to participate in the National Taekwondo Competition (Poomsae).
The CCA Experience
Through training and competitions, students work alongside peers from diverse backgrounds, fostering teamwork and respect. In preparation for the National School Games (NSG), students are guided to improve their skills and build resilience. Those undertaking grading assessments are encouraged to take ownership of their learning and progress.
Growing Our 21st Century Competencies
Taekwondo equips students with essential life skills beyond the training floor. Students develop critical and adaptive thinking by making sound decisions under pressure. Communication and collaboration are strengthened through team training and working towards shared goals. Competing alongside peers from different backgrounds nurtures cross-cultural awareness and mutual respect.
