More than a Mural
Students, staff and parents joined hands with local artist Mr Sun Yu-li to create Quest — a vibrant mural that transformed every brushstroke into a joyful lesson in creativity, collaboration and community.
What happens when students, teachers, parents and artists come together with paintbrushes in hand? During the June school holidays, something truly special took shape at Jiemin Primary School.
Led by renowned Singaporean artist Mr. Sun Yu-li, the Quest mural project brought together our Primary 4 and Primary 5 Art Club students, staff, parents and invited guests to create more than just a beautiful mural—it created lasting memories and meaningful learning experiences.
As the mural came to life, so did important lessons. Students shared ideas, listened to different perspectives and discovered that every person's contribution matters. Each brushstroke became part of a larger picture, reminding us that great things happen when we work together.
Inspired by our school vision of Global Learners, Discerning Citizens, Quest celebrates the joy of learning. It reminds every Jieminite that learning is more than what happens in the classroom—it is about staying curious, embracing new ideas, respecting one another and growing together as a community.
Today, the completed mural stands proudly in our school as a colourful reminder of what our community can achieve when everyone plays a part. It is, truly, more than a mural.
