Physical Education
Discover how Jiemin builds strong minds and healthy bodies through physical and co-curricular education.
At Jiemin Primary School, we nurture our students to become fit, healthy and sporting individuals who enjoy being active and understand the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. Through Physical Education (PE), students develop movement skills, physical fitness and confidence while learning important values such as resilience, responsibility, respect and care.
Our goal is for every Jieminite to develop positive habits and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity, while growing as confident team players who care for their own well-being and that of others.
Our learning approach
Students progressively develop their physical abilities through a wide range of movement activities, games and sports. In the early years, they build fundamental movement skills before learning to apply and refine these skills through increasingly complex games and sporting experiences.
Lessons encourage students to think, make decisions and work collaboratively. Students are supported and challenged according to their abilities, while opportunities for goal-setting and reflection help them take greater ownership of their learning and well-being. Good sportsmanship, teamwork and character development are intentionally woven into their PE experiences.
Signature learning experiences
Healthy Living Programme
Healthy habits are built both in school and at home. Through our Healthy Living Programme, students learn about physical activity, nutrition, sleep, screen time and other aspects of personal well-being. Family activities such as Let's JES encourage parents and children to enjoy being active together and reinforce healthy habits beyond school.
Sports and Games
Through PE lessons and experiences such as Games Day, students apply their movement skills in fun and engaging settings. They learn to participate confidently, work as a team, demonstrate good sportsmanship and experience the joy of physical activity.

Outdoor Education and Adventure
Students progressively develop confidence and an appreciation of the outdoors through authentic experiences. These include orienteering and outdoor learning, as well as the Primary 5 Outdoor Adventure Camp, where students take on challenges, work with their peers and develop resilience, independence and teamwork.

Exploring New Sports
Students are given opportunities to experience different physical activities and sports beyond their regular PE lessons. Experiences such as bowling and archery expose students to new interests while developing focus, confidence, teamwork and an openness to lifelong participation in physical activity.
Active for life
Ultimately, we want our Jieminites to see physical activity as an important and enjoyable part of everyday life. Through positive experiences in PE, sports, outdoor education and healthy living, students develop the confidence, habits and values to lead active and healthy lives beyond their primary school years.
